How a study is conducted
Every engagement starts with a scoping conversation — a brief exchange to confirm which study fits the space and the stage of the project. This is at no charge. From there, a site visit is scheduled, and on-site measurements are taken before any drawing begins.
The studio draws from measurement, not from memory or assumption. Where developer drawings exist, they are used as a reference — but are not relied upon, because built properties in Malaysia regularly differ from plan by enough to affect layout decisions.
Options are developed from a circulation-first position: before any piece of furniture is placed, the study maps how the space is entered, moved through, and exited. This shapes every placement that follows. The written notes that accompany each option explain the reasoning in plain language — what the option achieves, what it trades off, and what would have to change for it to be reconsidered.

Study 01
Single-Plan Layout Study

A focused engagement that looks at one floor of a home or one zone of a workplace and produces two layout options with a short written reasoning. Includes one on-site visit and one revision round. Suitable for households or businesses considering small interventions before a larger build, or weighing two arrangements of the same space.

Whole-Home Space Optimisation Study

A larger engagement covering all floors of a home, with proposed plans, circulation notes, and a short written narrative explaining each adjustment. Includes a final document suitable for handover to a designer or architect taking the work forward into documentation.

A workshop for offices, retail, or hospitality interiors, with a session on-site, a draft plan, and a structured options document. The output is prepared for procurement and operations review. Suitable for organisations considering a layout change without a full fit-out engagement.

Clear scope limits
Structural advice, building code compliance, and procurement decisions are outside Lumarae's remit. The studio is explicit about this from the first conversation.
Timeline accountability
Delivery timelines are stated in the scope and met. If circumstances change, clients are notified in advance — not after the deadline has passed.
